Fashion Forward; The Show Must Go On!

FASHION FORWARD!

Its been just over a year since Dubai Fashion Week had its plug pulled for financial reasons, but wait! Bong Guerrero Dubai's O.G (Original Gangster for those who don't know)of Event Planning (Note; if you didn't have an invite to his 2011 Birthday party at the Maglis Golf Course-you have missed out! #legend) has taken it upon himself to set Dubai back on the radar with Fashion Forward.

A series of fashion shows featuring a fantastic lineup from some of Dubai's top design maestros; Michael Cinco, Ezra, Amato and Essa, to name but a few are set to show alongside a series of panel talks for budding fashionistas, social mites and media over the course of 3-4 days at Madinat Jumeirah.

Finally! Something I can sink my teeth into other than the countless shop openings and mass department store catwalk stages that have become O' So  monotonous these past few months!

Vanity Mode; Fashion Styling Workshop by Van der Haer

Vanity Mode by Van der Haer is a 3-Day Short Practical Workshop designed to give you a in-depth foundation into entering the fashion industry as a Fashion or Personal Stylist. You will learn the key factors of; Color Analysis, Wardrobe Editing, Personal Styling and Personal Shopping that builds the foundation for a future career or further education in the Fashion industry. By the end of this workshop you will able to do informed consultations for family, friends and/or potential clients.

The 3-day Workshop (May 12th -14th 2013)will be lead by International Fashion designer and Image Consultant Charlotte Van der Haer Richardsonwww.vanderhaer.com who has worked for the likes of stylist Isabella Blow, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney as well as for some of the G.C.C most prominent couture houses prior to setting up on her own creative consulting label.

As well as receiving first hand advice and course materials, during your 3-Day training program you will be provided with the Vanity Mode by Van der Haer Styling Tips n Tricks Booklet to further help you on your way. Upon successful completion of this workshop, you will be able to go for an internship or entry-level position in the Styling or onto Further Education.


Day 1: Color Analysis- An Introduction to the seasonal colours, suitability for different skin tones, as well as hair and eye colors. The importance and impact colour plays in your wardrobe and everyday life.

Day 2: Fashion Styling & Wardrobe Editing– You will be taught the various kinds of fashion styles/personalities, suitability for different body shapes and clothing silhouettes. What a wardrobe edit consists of and how to build different looks for different occasions from the basics. Lastly, the protocol for preparing and working on fashion editorial shoots.

Day 3: Personal Shopping – Gain further valuable knowledge on how to personal shop for yourself and/or clients, both female and male, learn inside knowledge on which shops to shop appropriately for your clients and how to build arapore with them for your business!

You will leave knowing how to;

• Put different styles together
• Color Analysing
• Personal styling
• How to dress clients
• Wardrobe styling and planning
• Personal shopping
• Make-up skills, hair care, and skin care
• Communication skills
• How to accessorize different looks
• Face shapes, body shapes, hair shapes,
• Grooming and presentation and so much more….

This invaluable workshop will take place in the luxurious settings of the Armani Hotel, Dubai.
